UIW Cardinals

Incarnate Word Hall of Fame Criteria

1) Eligibility

• Former Student-Athletes who earned a UIW degree
• UIW coaches
• UIW athletic administrators
• Other persons closely connected to the UIW athletic programs

2) Standards

• Significant contributor as a student-athlete for at least two (2) years in one sport or at least one (1) year in each of two (2) different sports
• Significant contribution to society after leaving UIW
• Significant contributions to the UIW athletic department by non-student-athletes

3) A period of at least five (5) years elapsed since the student-athlete completed his / her UIW eligibility / affiliation. There is no time lapse for other candidates.

4) Nominations

• Can be from current students, athletes, faculty, administration, staff, boosters
• Specific form completed listing accomplishments both at UIW and afterwards (click here to fill out form)

5) Elected by the appointed committee

• The committee works on a points system. For any given year a candidate must receive 75 percent of the available points for election as voted by the committee.
• No limit on the number of times one person may be nominated
• It is understood that in some years no nominees may receive the necessary two-thirds vote
