University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Mitchell Badillo averaged 20 points per game last week for the men’s basketball team and he is the UIW Male Athlete of the Week.  Badillo is now in the pool of athletes in the running for the UIW Male Athlete of the Year. This honor will be voted on by the UIW coaches and the sports administration.
 
Badillo nearly led the Cardinals to victory at McNeese State after facing a 15-point second half deficit.  He scored a career high 21 points and had five assists, three steals and four three-pointers in the overtime loss.  He boosted the Cardinals to their sixth home win of the season on Saturday against Nicholls with his 19 points, six assists and four rebounds. He averaged 20.0 points and 5.5 assists per game for the week while making 8-of-13 from three-point range.
 
Badillo is a senior point guard from Houston, TX where he graduated from Cy Falls High School.  He is studying business administration.
