University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

BRITTANI DEAR
 
It was a three-match week for Incarnate Word’s volleyball team and Brittani Dear was consistent enough to named UIW’s female athlete of the week for November 3 to November 9.
 
This is the third time this fall for Dear to be recognized.
 
She averaged in the three matches 12.3 kills with a team high 18 against Texas-Pan American.  Her hitting percentage was .276 for the week including a personal best .343 in that same UTPA match.
 
Over on defense she was totally consistent.  She had 15 digs in all three matches.  In other statistics she had a service ace in all three to go with a total six block assists at the net.
 
Dear is a sophomore.  She is studying chemistry at UIW.  She hails from La Vernia High School.
 
She, of course, will be on the yearend ballot for female athlete of the year as voted by UIW coaches and athletic administrators.
