Angelique Vidaurri hardly could have been more dominant in earning female athlete of the week at Incarnate Word.
 
In the week October 27 to November 2 the volleyball Cardinals played a single match and won a Southland Conference verdict over Abilene Christian.
 
Vidaurri was sensational.  From her hitting position she had a personal career high and a team season high 25 kills.  In her 58 hitting chances she had nine errors and finished with a percentage of .276.
 
Mixed in with all those put-aways, she had one service ace, four defensive digs and three block assists.
 
With her positive actions added up she finished the match with 27.5 points.  That number also is a personal Vidaurri season high as well as the biggest total to date for anyone on the team.
 
A junior, Vidaurri came to UIW from San Antonio’s Southwest High School.  She is a financial planning major and she is now eligible for female athlete of the year to be selected next May by Incarnate Word coaches and athletic administrators.
