In his third start of the football season Broderick Reeves hands down had his best game of the year to earn Incarnate Word male athlete of the week for November 10 to November 16 and get himself on the yearend ballot for male athlete of the year.
 
With the injury list at running back significant in the game at Lamar, Reeves stepped into the gap in a large way.  Overall he carried the football 12 times.  He netted 99 yards for an average of 8.2 a try.  His longest gainer was 35 yards and he scored two touchdowns.  All of those numbers were season bests for Reeves and he did it in less than three quarters as the injury bug struck him in the third period to end his night.
 
In the second quarter with Lamar ahead 14-0 the Cardinals covered a Lamar fumble.  On the first play from scrimmage Reeves broke to the left and went unscathed to the end zone getting UIW back into the game.  In the second quarter with Lamar still ahead, this time by 21-6, the Cardinals needed to score.  Reeves this time went 25 yards and UIW drew closer on the scoreboard. 
 
Reeves is a sophomore.  He is from Mexia High School.  He is studying business administration at Incarnate Word.
