HEATHER KOWALIK

For the second time this fall Heather Kowalik of the UIW women’s soccer team is the UIW female athlete of the week.

This time she forged two shutouts in goal in a two-game week for the Cardinals.  The two opponents combined had five shots on goal and, obviously, she saved all five.

UIW for the week won one and tied the other.  Cumulatively, the games totaled 200 minutes of action and Kowalik was in net every single second.

In addition to the weekly UIW honor she has been named College Sports Madness goalkeeper of the week for the Southland Conference.

Kowalik is from Boerne Champion High School.  She is a junior and she is studying psychology at Incarnate Word.  And, she will be on the ballot for female athlete of the year as voted by UIW coaches and athletic administrators.
