Kyle Hittle set a school record, got a personal career high and thus is the Incarnate Word male athlete of the week for December 9 to December 15.
 
During this time between UIW’s winter commencement and the Christmas holidays there was but one men’s basketball game.  So apparently Hittle figured he would make up for the paucity of action by giving Cardinals fans a show for their money.
 
In the 27-point win over McMurry, Hittle was a perfect nine of nine on three-point shots.  That far surpassed the previous school record of six for six set back in 2009. 
 
He missed his only conventional shot from the field and ended at 9-10 overall.  He was five of seven tries at the free throw line to post his personal career high of 32 points.
 
In between lighting them up from long range, Hittle accounted for three rebounds, an assist, two blocked shots and one steal.
 
Hittle is a sophomore guard out of New Braunfels High School.  He is studying business administration at Incarnate Word.  His name now goes on the list for next spring when UIW coaches and athletic administrators select the male athlete of the year.
