DENZEL LIVINGSTON
 
The Cardinals went on the road for a pair of games to open play in the Division I Southland Conference.  They came home with a split and as a leader on the trip Denzel Livingston is the UIW male athlete of the week.
 
He ran his string to six straight games with double points as he led Incarnate Word in both contests.  He scored 18 and 29 respectively to average 23.5.  He shot 14-24 (.583) from the field including 4-9 (.444) on three’s.  He also was 15-18 at the free throw stripe for .833.
 
He averaged 5.0 rebounds including a team high seven in one game.  He had marks of 4.0 assists leading in one game and 3.0 steals, topping the team in both games.
 
Livingston is a junior from Houston’s Waltrip High School.  At UIW he is studying business.  This is his second time to be the top male athlete of the week.  He will be on the ballot in May for male athlete of the year as voted on by Cardinals coaches and athletic administrators.
