Biography

2014 (Junior): In her junior year, Kowalik shared time in goal playing in fourteen games and starting in each of the final eight matches of the season.  She led the goalkeeping staff with a 1.34 goals against average, a total of 43 saves and was responsible for the team total of 3.0 shutouts on the year.  She made a season high seven saves in the Cardinals first win of the year, a 1-0 win over Central Arkasas on the road when she faced 19 total shots.  She was named the College Sports Madness Southland Goalkeeper of the Week after recording a pair of shutouts against McNeese State and Lamar.  She made a total of five saves during the week.  Over the final five matches of the season she lowered her goals against average from 2.10 to 1.34.

2013 (Sophomore): Kowalik started in goal for all 19 of the Cardinals contests in their debut season in Division I and was named the Southland Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after recording her third consecutive shutout against Northwestern State in early November. She posted a total of 4.0 shutouts on the year and made a total of 59 saves. She faced 22 shots and made a season high nine saves in a loss at Rollins. She made eight saves that prevented the Cardinals from losing a 0-0 overtime draw against Lamar University. She closed the season strong allowing just one goal in 420 minutes.  She was named onto the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2012 (Freshman):  Kowalik had a strong freshman campaign earning Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention honors while twice being named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week.  She started all 15 games she appeared in.  She put together a stretch of four consecutive shutouts and went 451:33 without allowing a goal.  She made four saves in a 3-0 shutout win over Texas Woman's.  She recorded a season high seven saves in a 1-0 loss to Angelo State.  She stopped two penalty kicks in a shootout win over Angelo State in the LSC semifinals.  She allowed one goal or less in 11 of 15 matches.  She was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School: Kowalik played soccer and basketball at Samuel V. Champion High School.  She led the soccer team to a third place finish in the state in 2009 and a runner-up finish in 2010.  As a senior, she earned all-district, all-region and academic all-state honors.

Personal:  Kowalik is the daughter of Leroy and Donna Kowalik and is studying psychology.  She has one sister, Hailey Kowalik and was born April 17, 1994. Her mother played basketball and softball at St. Mary’s University.  Her greatest sports memory was being the starting goalkeeper as a freshman in the state tournament.
