MITCHELL BADILLO
 
Double figure points both games and leading scorer once and Mitchell Badillo is the Incarnate Word male athlete of the week for November 25 to December 1.
 
For the Cardinals’ first game against a Division I opponent, North Texas, Badillo came off the bench to top all players with his 19 tallies which were a personal career high.  Five days later he posted 11 points as a starter in a UIW victory over Texas A&M International.  For the week he averaged 15.0 points while shooting 8-15 from the field for .533.  Those numbers included 3-6 on three’s for .500.  He also was 11-12 at the free throw line for .917.
 
He led in assists once while averaging 3.0 and was the top Cardinal in steals once as he averaged 1.5.  And from his point guard position he grabbed an average 4.5 rebounds.
 
Badillo is a sophomore from Houston’s Cypress Falls High School.  He is studying sports management at Incarnate Word.
 
He now will be on the ballot next May when UIW coaches and athletic administrators select a male athlete of the year.
