University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Sydney Sprinkle had a perfect weekend on her way to being a regional champion in synchronized swimming and to being the Incarnate Word female athlete of the week for March 2 to March 8.
 
The Cardinals were in Virginia to defend their South Regional title and with Sprinkle’s top performance they did just that.  UIW with its 100 points and the University of Florida with 81 swamped the field.

And Sprinkle swamped all individuals.
 
She won the solo competition by more than two points, a significant amount.  She then joined with teammate Katy Wiita to capture the duet portion of the meet.
 
After skipping over the trio competition, Sprinkle joined with seven other Cardinals to win the team division going away; the margin was nearly three points over Florida’s entry.
 
Sprinkle is a senior from Seattle, Wash., and she is studying business at UIW.  She now will be on the ballot at year’s end when Incarnate Word coaches and athletic administrators name a female athlete of the year.
