University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

A hot week at the plate led to Trey Rodriguez being named the UIW Male Athlete of the Week.  He is now eligible for the UIW Male Athlete of the Year Award that is voted on by UIW coaches and sports administrators.

Rodriguez went 7-for-13 for the Cardinals in four games over the week.  He had one hit at Baylor and then had two hits in all three games against Lamar.  In the series finale, he singled with one out in the sixth inning and later scored what proved to be the winning run.  In the middle game of the series, he had a double and a triple.

Rodriguez is a senior criminal justice major from Corpus Christi, Texas.  He graduated from Carroll High School and is a transfer from Grayson Community College.
