University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

The men’s soccer team at Incarnate Word played but a single game during the time September 30 to October 6 and it was a loss.  But that setback did not keep Vincent Bailey from playing well enough to be UIW’s co-male athlete of the week.
 
The Cardinals were in Ohio to play at the University of Dayton which was undefeated and ranked 16th in the nation for Division I.  Dayton won the game ultimately 3-2 but it took two overtime periods.  Bailey scored both Cardinals goals.
 
In the 65^th minute he scored to tie the contest at 1-1.  Eighteen minutes later he scored again putting the Cardinals up by 2-1 and putting a scare into Dayton’s side.  In the match he had three shots on goal with the two successes.
 
Bailey is a senior midfielder from Southport, England.  He played soccer at King George V College and Savio High School back home.  At UIW his major is sports management.  He is now eligible for Incarnate Word’s male athlete of the year.
