Angelique Vidaurri
Vidaurri led volleyball’s attack through the week with 24 kills and is the UIW Female Athlete of the Week. She is now eligible for the UIW Female Athlete of the Year award that is voted on by the UIW coaches and the sports administrators at the end of the year.
Vidaurri and the Cardinals put up valiant fights against Southland Conference opponents, Nicholls and McNeese State, but could not finish the matches. Both games went to the fifth set, after the Cardinals had come back from a first set loss. Angelique’s strongest game was against Nicholls were she posted 13 kills, four blocks, four assists and an ace. For the week, Vidaurri showed a .317 attack percentage.
Vidaurri is a senior financial planning major from San Antonio, TX. She attended Southwest High School.
