KYLE HITTLE
 
Kyle Hittle is on a roll for the Incarnate Word basketball team.  He is the male athlete of the week(s) for the time December 16 to January 5—actually three weeks spanning the holidays.  Before those three seven-day periods he was the male athlete of the week after setting a school mark of 9-9 on three pointers and his personal career high 32 points.
 
He has not gotten off the gas pedal since.
 
The Cardinals were 4-0 in this current time frame.  He averaged 22.3 points leading the team in scoring twice.  He shot .667 from the field (32-48) including .400 (8-20) on three’s.  He also was 17-21 at the line for .809.  He chipped in averages of 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals.
 
His streak of double-figure points is alive at 13, which is every game this year.  He has topped 20 points six times including three of the four in this current time slot.  And, in the last game he tallied 31, just missing his personal high.
 
Hittle is a sophomore from New Braunfels and his UIW major is business administration.  His previous weekly selection put him on the ballot for male athlete of the year to be selected next spring by Cardinals coaches and athletic administrators.
