University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Trent Brittain had his best game as a Cardinal leading the football team to a 45-31 victory over Northwestern State.  For that reason he is this week’s UIW Male Athlete of the Week. With this selection, Brittain will be in the running for Male Athlete of the Year which is voted on by the UIW coaches and the Sports Administration.

Brittain, a quarterback, and the Cardinals were losing 14-0 early in the game against Northwestern State, but came back with offensive authority to finish the 45-31 win.   Brittain passed for 259 yards and two touchdowns.  He also rushed for 57 yards and a career-high three touchdowns.  The five total touchdowns were a career high and it was his second straight game with over 300 yards of total offense.

Brittain is a sophomore criminal justice major from Eastland, TX.  The Eastland High School grad is the son of Jeff and Carol Brittain.
