University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

This week’s UIW Female Athlete of the Week is Danielle Ramirez of the women’s softball team. Ramirez is now in the running for UIW Female Athlete of the Year award, which will be voted on by the UIW coaches and the sports administration at the end of the school year.

In the first weekend of competition, Ramirez and the Cardinals played six games in three days.  In just 14 at bats, Ramirez led Incarnate Word with eight hits and three stolen bases while also scoring a pair of runs.  She hit safely in all six games the team played.

Ramirez is a junior outfielder from San Antonio where she attended Marshall High School.  She is studying biology at UIW.
