Brooke Dubois got the job done both pitching and hitting to earn Incarnate Word’s female athlete of the week honors for April. 20 to April 26.  She will be on the ballot when UIW coaches and athletic administrators name a female athlete of the year.
 
It was a weekend Southland Conference, three-game series against Sam Houston State.  Twice DuBois was in the circle for the Cardinals and she finished with a 1-1 mark.
 
In the two games she pitched, she went 13 innings giving up just four runs, two of which were earned.  That gave her a 1.08 earned run average.  She allowed 11 total hits with six bases on balls and four strikeouts.
 
At the plate, she had three hits in four official at-bats.  She had one sacrifice bunt, she scored a run and she drove in one teammate.  Both the run scored and the RBI came in her victory in game three.
 
DuBois is a senior and she is from Pearland.  At Incarnate Word she is studying business administration.
