University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Jontrell Walker averaged over 20 points per game last week and led the men's basketball team to a win at St. John's so he has been named the UIW Male Athlete of the Week.  He is now eligible for the UIW Male Athlete of the Year award that is voted on by UIW coaches and sports administrators.

Walker averaged 24.0 points and 4.5 assists in two games last week for UIW as they went 1-1, including a win at St. John's.  He 28 points and dished out five assists against Our Lady of the Lake.  He added 20 points and four assists at St. John's.  He went 18-for-18 from the foul line for the week and currently leads the nation in free throw percentage.

Walker is a sophomore kinesiology major from Aurora, IL and went to West Aurora High School.
