University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

This week’s UIW Male Athlete of the Week is kick returner and wide receiver Kody Edwards. Edwards is now in the running for UIW Male Athlete of the Year award that is voted on later in the year by the UIW coaches and the sports administrators.

Edwards played one of his best games of the season by setting the school record with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the game against Stephen F. Austin.  Edwards tallied 186 kick return yards on five attempts to set the school record for most return yards in a single game.  He also put up 74 yards on five catches.  Finally, his 261 all-purpose yards was the third highest single game total in school history.

Edwards is a sophomore studio engineering major from Dallas, TX.
