Yvonne Maosa
This week’s UIW Female Athlete of the week is Yvonne Maosa of the women’s basketball team. With this nomination, Maosa will be entered in the pool for UIW Female Athlete of the Year which is voted on by the UIW coaches and the sports administrators.
In their first full week of Southland Conference play, Maosa was one of three players to be perfect from the free-throw line (6-6). She also led the Cardinals (3-11, 0-3 SLC) in the game against New Orleans (4-8, 1-2 SLC) with 14 points and finished in second for the contest against Northwestern State (9-6, 3-1 SLC) with 12 points. Off the boards, Maosa led the UIW with a combined 18 rebounds, including a double-double against Northwestern State.
Yvonne is a senior biology major from Arlington, TX. She attended Mansfield High School and is a transfer from Jacksonville College.
