KYLE HITTLE

The Cardinals had a pair of basketball games over the time January 12 to January 18 and Kyle Hittle was a bright spot for Incarnate Word; thus he is the male athlete of the week.
 
In both games he cracked the 20-point mark, averaging 21.5.  To get those points he shot .483 from the field on 14 makes in 29 attempts.  Those include seven of 19 from beyond the arc for .368.  And, at the free throw stripe he was an impressive 8-9 for .889.
 
Hittle also posted numbers in other statistical categories.  He averaged 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.  He led the team in rebounds in both games.
 
In a win over New Orleans he had his season high 11 rebounds which tied his career best.  Those along with his 22 points gave Hittle his first double-double of the year.  In that same game he led the team with his season high three blocked shots.
 
Hittle is a 6-5 junior guard majoring in finance at UIW.  He graduated from New Braunfels High School.  This is the third time for him to be named male athlete of the week.  He will be among the candidates for male athlete of the year as selected by UIW coaches and athletic administrators next May.
