University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

BRITTANI DEAR
 
For the second time in three weeks Brittani Dear is the Incarnate Word female athlete of the week.  This time the span was September 22 through September 28.
 
In a two-match volleyball week Dear averaged 9.5 kills while hitting at a .207 clip.  She had a team high 16 kills in a win over Abilene Christian.  In that same match she had a team high 18.5 points.
 
She put numbers in several columns other than kills.  She had a pair of assists to go with a duo of service aces and a twosome of blocks. 
 
Perhaps her biggest influence was on defense where she was in double figure digs both matches averaging 14.0.  She led the team once in digs.
 
Dear is a sophomore from La Vernia.  At UIW she is studying chemistry.
