University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

LEONARD IVIC
 
Each week during the school year one male athlete is recognized as being superior and for the time frame September 8 to September 14 Leonard Ivic of the UIW tennis team was the one.
 
He now is eligible for male athlete of the year as voted by UIW coaches and athletic administrators next May.
 
It was the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Invitational and it was the first competition of the fall for the Cardinals.  Ivic led the way in the tournament which featured all Division I players.
 
In singles he won three matches to reach the semi-finals before losing.  Over in the doubles competition he and his partner won a pair of matches to reach the semi’s before dropping a match.
 
Ivic is a senior from Split, Croatia.  At UIW he is studying international business.
