SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team has announced its 2026 schedule under sixth-year Head Coach Kiki Lara. The Cardinals are set to play in 16 regular season matches, with 10 conference games. 

The Cardinals will begin their non-conference slate with a pair of home games in Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium against University of Massachusetts Lowell (Aug. 20) and Jacksonville (Aug. 23). 

The Cardinals go on the road to face two non-conference opponents in Tulsa (Aug. 28) and SMU (Sep. 7). Last season, the team defeated then-nationally ranked No. 18 SMU in Dallas, 2-1. 

UIW hosts an in-town match up against Our Lady of the Lake (Sep. 4) and closes out its non-conference schedule against Florida Gulf Coast at home (Sep. 18) 

The team begins its Ohio Valley Conference slate with three straight on the road, facing Houston Christian (Sep. 26), Lindenwood (Oct. 1) and UTRGV (Oct. 4).  

The Cardinals face Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in the conference home opener Oct. 8. UIW will also host conference matches against Southern Indiana (Oct. 11), Eastern Illinois (Oct. 15), Houston Christian (Oct. 23) and UTRGV (Oct. 29). They also travel to face Eastern Illinois (Oct. 15), Western Illinois (Oct. 18). The team concludes regular season play at home against Lindenwood on Nov. 1. 

The OVC Men's Soccer Championship will run from Nov. 8- 14 in St. Charles, Mo., hosted by Lindenwood.  

Last season, the Cardinals finished 5-7-6 overall with a 1-5-4 conference record. They will return 20 players including senior Noe Robles who was named to the 2025 OVC All-Newcomer Team.
