SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word is back at the McDermott Center on Saturday, December 14 for a 1 p.m. tip against Schreiner University. Fans can bring a canned good to gain free entry into the Food Drive Game.
UIW
- The Cardinals have improved to a 4-4 overall record and are now 1-0 in Southland Conference play following a 48-46 buzzer beater victory over Northwestern State.
- During the win over the Demons, Jorja Elliott had a season-high 22-point performance, shooting 7-for-11 from the field. Elliott is the leading scorer for the Cardinals, averaging just over 10 points per contest.
- Myra Bell had the hot hand at the end, pulling up in the short corner for the last-second jumper to win the game. She adds 7.5 points and four rebounds per game for the Cardinals.
- Raimi McCrary is the leading rebounder with her six board per game to go along with 7.4 points per contest.
- Freshman Brynn Lusby has come off the bench for some valuable minutes as the Cardinals' second-leading scorer (8.8 ppg).

- All-time, the Cardinals are 3-0 over the Mountaineers.
- The last meeting was on December 12, 2022 where UIW defeated Schreiner 92-41.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- Schreiner opened the season, edging out Howard Payne with a 72-70 victory before going on a 7-game losing streak.
- Guards Brie Sosa (12.3) and Tamia Moody (10.6) lead Schreiner in scoring.
- Madison Parham is averaging close to a double-double for the Mountaineers with 9.9 rebounds and 9.4 points per game.
