FRISCO, Texas -- University of the Incarnate Word's Women's Basketball team has received its 2026-27 conference schedule from the Southland Conference. The Cardinals are set to play a 22-game conference slate under second-year head coach Jhasmin Player. 

They will begin the season on a two-game road trip, visiting the defending conference regular-season champions, McNeese, for their conference opener on Thursday, Dec. 3rd. They will head to Hammond to face Southeastern Louisiana the following Saturday, Dec. 5.

The team is back in San Antonio for a home stand beginning with their conference home opener against LSU New Orleans on Dec. 17. The Cardinals will host Nicholls on Dec. 19 before their game on New Year's Eve against UTRGV.

The new year starts with an away game at Houston Christian on Jan. 2, before returning home to host a pair of games. The Cardinals will face defending conference tournament champions, Stephen F. Austin, on Jan. 7 and conference runner-ups, Lamar, on Jan. 9 at the McDermott Center. 

A four-game road stretch for the Cardinals will begin on Jan. 14 at East Texas A&M ahead of their games against Northwestern State (Jan. 16), UTRGV (Jan. 21) and Texas A&M-CC (Jan. 23). 

UIW will split the next two weeks, going on the road to LSU New Orleans on Feb. 11 and Nicholls on Feb. 13 ahead of a home-and-home series with Northwestern State on Feb. 18 and East Texas A&M on Feb. 20. 

The regular-season slate will end with a two-game road trip. The Cardinals will see another week series with Stephen F. Austin and Lamar on Feb. 25 and 27th to close out conference play.

The 2027 Southland Conference Tournament is set for March 8-11 in Lake Charles, La., and will be hosted by McNeese.
