SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team travels to McNeese on Thursday and Nicholls on Saturday. The Cardinals return for two home games next week before wrapping up the regular season at Northwestern State on Wednesday, March 1.
 
THE LAST TIME THEY MET

• The Cardinals fell to the Cowgirls, 69-34, earlier this season on Jan. 26 at the McDermott Center.
• UIW defeated the Colonels 70-62 on Jan. 28. Destiny Terrell (25) and Nina De Leon Negron (23) lead the team scoring.

 
UIW

• De Leon Negron continues to lead the team, averaging 11.6 points per game. Terrell and Myra Bell are adding around eight points per contest.
• With only five games left in the season, the Cardinals are sitting in eighth place with a 5-8 conference record.
• UIW is third in the conference in team defense, limiting its opponents to only 58.74 points per game.
• On the offensive side, the Cardinals are third in the conference for 3-point field goal percentage at 31.5 percent.

 
COWGIRLS

• McNeese is 9-15 overall and 6-7 in Southland Conference play to put them tied for fifth place in the conference standings.
• The Cowgirls are on a two-game losing streak, falling to Southeastern (72-64 OT) and New Orleans (65-59) last week.
• As a balanced scoring team, several student-athletes are contributing with Paris Mullins leading the team (9.4), while Desirae Hansen (8.9), Zuzanna Kulinska (8.5), and Divine Tanks (8.4) are all adding eight points per contest.

 
COLONELS

• Sitting last in the conference standings, Nicholls is 1-11 in the SLC and 4-19 overall.
• Lexi Alexander is the leading scorer (14.3) and rebounder (8.8) for the Colonels. As a freshman, she's put up seven double-doubles this season.
• Deonna Brister follows closely behind adding 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.
