CARDINAL QUICK HITS
- After two games, junior Starr Omozee's eight steals rank 15th in the nation (3rd SLC). Her 4.0 steals per game sit at 22nd in the nation (2nd SLC).
- Freshman Jaaucklyn Moore was precise from the charity line over two games going 6-for-6. She is one of 103 tied for first in the nation and one of four in the league for 100 percent accuracy from the line.
- The Cardinals' 2020-21 squad features 11 new members returning one starter, one redshirt and three others. The Cardinals lost four of its starters and eight letterwinners with a roster that graduated seven seniors last season.
- UIW has a young squad with eight true freshmen. The average age of the team is 19.3 years. 14 of 16 players on the roster have less than two years of playing experience at the Division I level.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: UTSA
UTSA leads the series against UIW, 2-0. This is the first meeting for the teams at the McDermott Center. The Cardinals fell to the Roadrunners last season, 63-56.
- Two games into the season, Yuliana Valcheva is the Roadrunners' leading scorer averaging 14.5 ppg while shooting at a rate of 57.9 percent.
- Adryana Quezada is not far behind, averaging 14.0 ppg while also grabbing a team-high 9.5 boards per game. She recorded a double-double against UTRGV with a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds.
- UTSA is 1-1 on the season with an 80-37 win over Sul Ross and a loss to UTRGV, 60-50.
- The Roadrunners were tabbed to finish 13th in the C-USA preseason poll.
- UTSA returns Mikayla Woods, a stellar freshman that was named C-USA Freshman of the Week three times and led the team in scoring, scoring average, free throws made and steals during the 2019-20 campaign.
- The Roadrunners' 52 rebounds per game rank 17th in the nation and second-best in C-USA.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: SUL ROSS
The head-to-head series between the teams is tied 4-4 dating back to the first matchup against Sul Ross on November 11, 1994. The Cardinals tied up the series during the 2015-16 campaign defeating the Lobos, 54-35, at the McDermott Center.
- Sul Ross is 0-2 on the season with losses to UTSA and UT Dallas. Ashley Nunez and Keona Loftis led the team against the Roadrunners with 13 points apiece.
- Senior Jackie Saucedo led the Lobos against UTD with 12 points and six boards.
- Cassie Hogan leads the team averaging 12.5 points per game.
- Defensively, Alexis Carmosino leads the squad with 9.0 rebounds per game, while Vania Hampton also contributes on the boards, bringing down 8.0 per contest and has grabbed a team-high 16 this season.
