SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team will look for its second consecutive win on Saturday as the squad heads south for a coastal matchup with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11:30 a.m.

Statistically eliminated from postseason contention, the Cardinals will spend the remainder of their 2017-18 campaign playing the role of spoiler. UIW will fight for pride as the regular season reaches its conclusion, but victories by the Cardinals could have significant postseason implications for the Southland Conference Tournament field.

AMCC is led by redshirt-senior guard Brittany Mbamalu, who averages 12.2 points, 4.2 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals. Sophomore guard Emma Young pulls down a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game, to go along with 11.3 points, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals. Sophomore guard Dalesia Booth averages 10.7 points, 5.6 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals.

SERIES HISTORY
 
AMCC holds an 8-1 advantage in the all-time series with UIW. The Islanders picked up a narrow 62-58 victory when the teams last met on Feb. 3, in San Antonio, Texas.
