Women's Basketball Travels to SFA

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team travels to Southland Conference rival Stephen F. Austin on Thursday for a 7 o'clock tip at Johnson Coliseum.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Cardinals (6-15, 3-7) enter the contest averaging 57.3 points per game and allowing 63.1 points per game.  They are holding opponents to 30.1 percent shooting from three-point range.  Aricka Adams (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) is the top scorer at 12.7 points per game and she is second on the team in steals and assists.  Brianna Williams (Wylie/Mesquite HS) chips in with 12.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.  Yvonne Maosa (Arlington/Mansfield HS) is the top rebounder on the team at 6.6 per contest and she averages double figure points during conference play.

The Lady Jacks (11-10, 5-5) started the Southland season with a 1-5 mark, but have since won four straight games in conference play.  They have a +3.2 scoring margin and have been slightly out rebounded in their games.  There are three players on the team averaging in double figures led by Taylor Ross' 16.2 points per contest.  Stevi Parker contributes 10.4 points and a team high 7.9 rebounds per game.

This is the first of two meetings between the Cardinals and Lady Jacks this season.  Last year, SFA won both ends of the season series.
