LUBBOCK, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team heads to Texas Tech University on Monday for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff at United Supermarkets Arena.
The Cardinals (3-5) are looking for their first road win of the year and first win against a Division I opponent this season. They have lost four straight games. The team is averaging 56.0 points per game while shooting 35.7 percent from the field.
Brianna Williams (Wylie/Mesquite HS) leads the team with 11.4 points per game while
Aricka Adams (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) chips in with 10.3 points per game and a team high 14 steals.
Yvonne Maosa (Arlington/Mansfield HS) averages a team high 5.3 rebounds per game.
The Lady Raiders (6-2) are a perfect 5-0 at home this season. They average 78.1 points while allowing 60.9 points per game. Ivonne Cook Taylor leads the team with 16.0 points and Rayven Brooks is averaging 13.4 points and a team high 3.8 assists per game. Leashja Grant is the team leading with 8.5 rebounds per game and 10 blocks.
This is the first ever meeting between the two programs.
