SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball returns home for the first time in three weeks on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. game against Texas Lutheran at the McDermott Center.

The Cardinals (2-5) will be looking to snap their current four-game losing streak.  They have been held under 50 points in each of those games and are only averaging 49.7 points per game for the season.  Aricka Adams (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) is leading the team with 11.6 points per game.  Jazmine Holman (Arlington/Arlington Bowie HS) has been the best all-around player for the team through the first month of the season with 5.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

The Bulldogs (2-3) went 23-6 last year en route to winning the SCAC and advance to the NCAA Division III tournament.  This year, they have dropped a pair of one-possession games and they have been a team that relies on their defense.  They are holding opponents to 33.0 percent shooting from the field and they average over 7.5 blocks per game.  Taylor Dydalewicz leads the team with 22.0 points per game and chips in with 5.4 rebounds.  Karisa Cantu and Kristen Lye are each averaging in double figures and Lye leads the team with 8.6 rebounds per game.  Chelsey Stolle is the team's 6-4 center who patrols the paint on defense and averages 4.4 blocks per game.

The Cardinals and Bulldogs used to play in the same Heart of Texas Conference when both schools were members of NAIA.  The Cardinals own a 20-10 all-time record against TLU.  The last time the two teams played was November 18, 2000 in a season-opening tournament hosted by Angelo State.  The Cardinals won 87-39.
