FORT MEYERS, FLORIDA – The University of the Incarnate Word women's swimming and diving team competed in a third dual meet in a later over a week on Friday and lost, 175-120 at CCSA rival Florida Gulf Coast University. (

The Cardinals fell to 1-2 on the season despite picking up seven first place finishes, but the depth of the Eagles proved to be too much. Senior
Kali Lents (San Antonio/Reagan HS) led UIW with a pair of victories in both diving events. She showed improved form from last week with 281.27 points in the 1-meter springboard and 298.65 points in the 3-meter springboard.
Adrienne Morrow (Hot Springs, AR/Hot Springs HS) picked up her second win of the season in the 200-yard freestyle. She posted her best time of the season touching the wall in 1:54.63. Senior
Lana Nguyen (Kiev, Ukraine/NPD) notched the next win for UIW with her third straight victory in the 50-yard freestyle. She clocked a season best time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.46. Nguyen added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle posting a time of 52.45.
The Cardinals had a good swim in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Daria Makieieva (Mariupol, Ukraine/Olimpic Reserve) swam a fabulous race and touched the wall first in 2:20.87. Teammate
Celeste Morgen (San Antonio/Johnson HS) came in third place in the same event in a time of 2:22.46. Morgen also finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.52.
The Cardinals are back in action next Friday at 6 p.m. against University of North Texas in the home opener at Barshop Natatorium.
