Stephanie Bonura (Houston/Lutheran North HS) and great team defense the University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team dispatched Lone Star Conference rival Cameron in three sets on the road 25-17, 28-26, 25-22. (

Bonura compiled a .727 attack percentage with eight kills in 11 chances without an error and added four blocks in the match. She was one of three Cardinals (5-7, 2-2) to have at least four blocks in the match.
Baleigh Schaetter (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg HS) led the team with seven blocks while
Angelique Vidaurri (San Antonio/Southwest HS) contributed five. Overall, the team had 11.0 total blocks and limited the Aggies (5-8) to a .078 attack.
The Cardinals easily won the first set, but had their hands full in the second and third frames. The second set went back and forth between the two teams and each team had a set point. The Cardinals finally grabbed the second set on their third set point opportunity.
In the third set, it looked like the Aggies were going to as they held a 21-18 lead. However, the Cardinals scored seven of the last eight points of the match to secure the sweep. Fittingly, the final point came on a block by Schaetter and Beth Soukup (Helotes/O'Connor HS).
The Cardinals posted a team attack of .205 while smacking 40 kills and picking up 56 digs.
Chetina Chavis (Houston/Bush HS) led the team with 10 kills as part of a balanced attack.
Danielle Suarez (San Antonio/Antonian Prep) dished out a team high 17 assists and served up three aces.
Kelci Lind (Lindale/Lindale HS) led the team with 16 digs while
Lydia Werchan (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley HS) added 15.
The Aggies finished with 37 kills, 51 digs and only two blocks. Shannon Dulaney, Annelise Carpenter and Kathryn Evans each had nine kills. Jenna Risolo led all players with 28 assists while Julisa Ocasio added 19 digs.
The Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they travel to LSC rival Tarleton State.
