2011 (Junior):  Werchan earned all-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention as a libero.  She led the team with 4.81 digs per set finishing sixth in the conference.  She reached double figures in digs in 27 of 30 matches and had a season high 37 digs in a five-set loss at Texas A&M-Commerce.  She went over 30 digs on two other occasions.  She tallied 26 digs and a season high six assists in a four-set loss at Angelo State.  She was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2010 (Sophomore):  Werchan was an outside hitter and defensive specialist her first year with the Cardinals.  She finished second on the team with 4.10 digs per set while also taking more than 400 swings in the attack.  She had at least 10 digs in 18 matches with a season high of 30 in a five-set win at St. Edward’s.  She posted her only double-double of the season when she had 13 kills and 12 assists in a win over Texas A&M-International.  She missed two other double-double opportunities by one kill.  She had a season high seven assists and 14 digs in a three set win over Southwestern Oklahoma.

Previous:  Werchan played at Texas State for one season.  She appeared in 62 of 125 sets and was on the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

High School:  Werchan earned first team all-district honors at Smithson Valley High School and played in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star game.  She also took home academic all-district honors.  She participated in softball and basketball.

Personal:  Werchan is the daughter of Paul and Terry Werchan and is studying nursing.  She has two brothers, Walter and Arthur, and two sisters, Hannah and Emma.  She was born on July 27, 1990 and needs only 107 more digs to reach 1,000 in her UIW career.  Her sister, Hannah, was a four-year member of the UIW program and holds the school record with 2,031 career digs.
