SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team hits the hardwood on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at crosstown foe St. Mary's University in hopes of ending a two game losing streak.
The Cardinals (2-2) opened their season with a pair of wins at the St. Edward's Shootout, but suffered losses last week at home to Our Lady of the Lake and on the road at UT-Permian Basin.  Junior 
Lauren McKinney (Grand Prairie/Arlington Bowie HS) leads the team with 15.0 points per game while Ify Mora (Grand Prairie/Arlington Bowie HS) chips in with 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.  The team is averaging 61.5 points per game and giving up 61.5 points per game while shooting 35.9 percent from the field.  They have forced an average of 23.0 turnovers per game.
The Rattlers (3-1) won their first three games of the season before losing on a buzzer beater at Central Missouri in their last game.  Jackie Woods leads the team with 14.5 points per game and Morgan Pullins is contributing 12.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.  They are scoring 67.5 points per game and giving up just 57.0 per game.  They are holding the opposition to 32.6 percent shooting from the field.
