University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

BRITTANI DEAR
 
In a three-match week for Incarnate Word Brittani Dear put numbers in almost every column of the volleyball box score and she is the UIW female athlete of the week for September 23 to September 29.
 
Her name will be added to the yearend ballot when Cardinals coaches and athletic administrators select the female athlete of the year.
 
Dear averaged 11.7 kills a match including double figures twice, and twice she led the Cardinals in put-aways.  Her hitting mark for the week was .271.
 
Over on the defensive side of things she averaged 10.7 digs.  She led the team once with 17 digs, a personal season high, and that total came in the one match when she did not lead in kills.
 
At the net she averaged 2.3 block assists.
 
Dear is a freshman outside hitter from LaVernia.  She is majoring in pre-pharmacy.
