COREY LEE
 
Corey Lee plays defensive tackle in football but against S.F. Austin he played mostly in the Lumberjacks backfield.  For his efforts he is the UIW male athlete of the week during the seven-day period September 1 to September 7. 
 
Lee is now eligible for male athlete of the year to be selected next May by Incarnate Word coaches and athletic administrators.
 
In the game at S.F. Austin he finished with four tackles.  Two of those were when he assisted on stops.  The other two were behind the line of scrimmage and were instrumental in the Lumberjacks those particular series giving the football back to the Cardinals via a punt.
 
On one play, a tackle for a loss, Lee jammed up a flair pass and caused a minus eight yards.  The other was an outright sack of the quarterback and a deficit of 14 yards.  All-in-all he took a total 22 yards off SFA’s total for the night.
 
Lee is a sophomore from Humble, TX and attended La Porte High School.  He is studying business at UIW.
