University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

The University of the Incarnate Word announced that this week’s Female Athlete of the Week is synchronized swimmer Beatriz Regly. She is now in the running for UIW Female Athlete of the Year Award that is voted on by the UIW coaches and sports administration.

The Rio de Janeiro native was the top finisher for the Cardinals at the 2016 U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships in Gainesville, Florida this past weekend. She earned 43 points, giving her the sixth highest total score in the nation. UIW finished in third place with 75 points, after Stanford University with 98 and Ohio State with 92.

Beatriz was a member of the second duet free routine that finished fourth with 77.8333 points, after another UIW duo finished third.
