Joey Vatanadilok, of the UIW Men’s Tennis team, remained undefeated at home this weekend and for this he is this week’s UIW Male Athlete of the Week. Vatanadilok has just entered the pool of athletes in the running for UIW Male Athlete of the Year. This honor is voted on by the UIW sports administration and coaches.
Vatanadilok led the Cardinals through a winning weekend as UIW remains undefeated at home in 2016. The San Antonio native had an undefeated weekend, winning the No. 1 doubles against Trinity, 6-2, and St. Mary's, 6-3. He also won both of his No. 1 singles matches against Trinity and St. Mary's. He defeated Trinity's Paxton Dueul in three sets 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 and Adam Dockery of St. Mary's 6-2, 6-4.
Vatanadilok is a sophomore kinesiology major. He was also the Southland Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
