University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Alona Kyselova was the only individual winner for the Cardinals in their swim meet at UC San Diego last week and for that reason she is the UIW Female Athlete of the Week.  This is her second straight athlete of the week award and she is eligible for UIW Female Athlete of the Year honors that are voted on by UIW coaches and sports administrators.
 
Kyselova swam in four events at the meet that included UCSD, San Jose State and San Diego State.  She finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.60), fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.09) and she closed her day by winning the 400-yard individual medley (4:29.13) for the second year in a row at the meet.
 
Kyselova is a sophomore from Kiev, Ukraine who is studying business administration.
