Troy Lara

Incarnate Word football player Troy Lara played an incredible game with two interceptions against Lamar this past weekend. Lara’s name is now in the running to be voted UIW Male Athlete of the Year, chosen by the UIW coaches and the sports administration at the end of the school year.

Lara and the Cardinals suffered their first home loss of the season against Lamar, 28-21. Lara was one of the UIW standouts in the contest with two interceptions about six minutes apart in the second period. On the latter, Lara ran for 17 yards and he finished the game with another pass breakup.

Lara is a senior who is working towards a Master’s degree in education.  The San Antonio native earned his undergraduate degree in history.
