This week’s UIW Male Athlete of the Week is running back Junior Sessions. His best collegiate game led the Cardinals to a 25-20 comeback win over Southland Conference rival Abilene Christian at Benson Stadium on Sunday. He is now in the running for the UIW Male Athlete of the Year award that is voted on by UIW coaches and athletic administrators.

Sessions set career-highs in rushing and all-purpose yards in the win over the Wildcats. He ran for 174 yards on 22 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 35 yards, giving him 209 all-purpose yards. His second touchdown of the game gave the Cardinals the definitive 25-20 lead with 48 seconds left in the game.

Sessions is a junior business administration major from Mesquite, Texas.
