DENZEL LIVINGSTON
This is the third time for Denzel Livingston to be Incarnate Word’s male athlete of the week and to earn the honor for February 2 through February 8 he did what he has been doing all along; he filled up the stat line on box scores in basketball.
The Cardinals played two Southland Conference games in that time frame. Once Livingston led in scoring, twice he led in rebounding, once in assists, twice in both blocks and steals.
His best night was the win over Lamar when he topped the team in every category. He had 22 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two blocks and five steals.
For the week, two games, he averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 3.5 steals. He shot 13-28 from the field for .464 including 4-8 on three’s for .500. At the free throw stripe he was 7-10 for .700.
With this recognition he is assured of being on the ballot when UIW coaches and athletic administrators vote for a male athlete of the year.
Livingston is a senior guard. He went to Waltrip High School in Houston. He is a general business major at UIW.
