JASMINE WARING

Waring was the University of the Incarnate Word female athlete of the week for May 4-10.  She recorded a historic first for the track and field program when she won the Southland Conference high jump over the weekend with a clearance of 5-8.5, a school record.

Waring was the leading point-getter for the women's team at the conference meet that was hosted by University of Central Arkansas.  In addition to winning the high jump, she also finished seventh in the 200 meters and set a school record in the event during prelims with a time of 24.18.  She was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team and ran the open 400 meters in a personal best time of 56.37.

Waring is a sophomore from San Antonio and attended Randolph High School.  She will be included on the UIW Athlete of the Year ballot.
