Jesse Hoover put up some impressive numbers during a four-game Incarnate Word baseball week.  He is the UIW male athlete of the week for April 21 to April 27.
 
He will be on the yearend ballot for male athlete of the year when UIW coaches and athletic administrators take that vote.
 
In the four games he collected eight save hits in 15 official plate appearances for .533.  He also drew four base on balls.  Those numbers compute to an on-base percentage of .632.
 
Among those eight safeties were five doubles.  All of those bases gained gave Hoover a slugging percentage of .867 for the four games.
 
Amongst all his numbers for the week were three runs scored and seven teammates driven home.  And the eight hits included an impressive five doubles.
 
At UIW Hoover is a junior and his major is engineering management.  He is a product of Marion, Texas, High School.
