For the second time in three weeks and the third time overall Myah Antwi is the Incarnate Word female athlete of the week for April 7 to April 13.  This week she set three school records at the UIW Invitational Track and Field Meet.
 
All three records came in throwing events and two of the trio broke her own previous marks.
 
First up, she entered the ring for the shot put.  Her best effort of the day was 13.66 meters (44-9.75 feet).  That was good for third place and was better than her mark of 13.03 meters (44-9.75) set two weeks earlier. 
 
Then she stayed in the circle for the discus where she finished second with a toss of 41.79 meters (137-1 feet), eclipsing the previous mark of 39.37 meters (120-2 feet) set by teammate Gabriella Estrada one week ago.
 
The final of the threesome of new marks came in the hammer throw.  Antwi’s heave of 44.85 meters (147-1 feet) was fifth in the competition and surpassed her own 43.35 meters (142-2) a month ago.
 
Antwi is a freshman from Huntsville, Texas, High School.  Her major is biology.  And, she will be on the female athlete of the year ballot.
