University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

EKAETE EDOHOUKWA
 
Ekaete Edohoukwa ran and jumped her way to being Incarnate Word’s female athlete of the week for March 24 to March 30.
 
It was at the Tiger Relays in San Antonio.  She ran in one track event and jumped in two field events and found success in all three.
 
She ran the second leg on the Cardinals 4x100 relay team which won the event in a time of 48.12.  She then moved over to the jumping pits where she placed first in the long jump with a distance of 5.50 meters or 18.04 feet.
 
Next up was the triple jump.  In that event she finished second with a distance of 10.95 meters or 35.93 feet.  The person who beat her in the triple?  Her twin sister Elizabeth.
 
Ekaete is a sophomore from Frisco, Texas, Centennial High School.  She is studying pre-med at UIW.  She now will be eligible for female athlete of the year when Incarnate Word coaches and athletic administrators make that selection.
