DANIELA ANANE-BEDIAKOH
Daniela Anane-Bediakoh was in three track events at the Islander Open and she came home with a first, a second and a fourth and female athlete of the week honors at Incarnate Word.
By gaining this honor for March 10 to March 16, Anane-Bediakoh will now be on the ballot when at year’s end UIW coaches and athletic administrators select a female athlete of the year for 2013-2014.
At the meet hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the first outdoor event of the spring for Incarnate Word, Anane-Bediakoh came across the finish line second in the 100-meters with a clocking of 12.02. She then stepped up to the 200-meters and ran fourth with a time of 25.02.
Later, she ran the second leg of the Cardinals’ 4x100 relay team which broke the tape first with a time of 46.42.
Anane-Bediakoh is a senior from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where she graduated from St. Marguerite D’Youville High School. She is a biology major at UIW.
